Welcome to happy healthy and fun Friday!! The week is winding down and hopefully, you have a great weekend planned. I learned a long time ago that we’re not just in the insurance business, but we’re in the people business. Every Friday I want to share a little health and well-being and fitness tidbit with you.
What happened to me last night was truly the stuff of nightmares! After a long day in meetings here in Los Angeles I come back to my hotel room I thought I would unwind by watching a little TV before I went to sleep. So as I sit watching reruns of Frasier the best sitcom of all time I must have fallen asleep. The next thing I know it’s 5:30 AM and my alarm clock is buzzing. I go to jump in the shower and a song starts playing in my head “Thank you for being a friend, Travel down the road and back again, your heart is true you’re a pal and a confidant. And if you threw a party and invited everyone you knew you, would see the biggest gift would be for me and the card attached would say thank you for being a friend.”
Now, friends, I can tell you unequivocally that I did not know the theme song to Golden girls when I went to bed. I run back to the television to check the TV Guide and I rolled back to the middle of the night and apparently between 2 and 4:00 o’clock I had subliminally consumed not 1 but 4 episodes of The Golden Girls! As if that wasn’t troubling enough, The insidious Golden Girls have now subliminally and implanted an earwig into my mind that will plague me the rest of my days.
This got me to thinking. What other noises or distractions are entering Into our minds that we don’t even realize daily, between our cell phones, television, email, text messages, tweets, Facebook notifications, Instagram notifications, etc …. it’s no wonder that people feel like they have attention deficit disorder 100% of the time. In fact, recent studies have shown that human interaction and the ability to connect interpersonally has diminished to an all-time low.
if you don’t think that’s true next time you go to a restaurant put down your cell phone and look around. look around at all the people we’re spending more time looking at their cell phones than their family and the people they are spending time with.
Maybe it’s time to take stock of all the distractions in your life. what’s taking your attention from what matters most? I have a challenge for you this weekend give yourself permission to put the cell phone away. And spend time with the people that matter to you most. I want you to consider that if you don’t do this The Golden Girls win!!
Keep in mind that I’m here to help you protect what matters most. To you that are already customers I want to say a big thank you, I appreciate you more than you know. to those of you that might be finding us for the first time please like our facebook page.
I wish you a safe and happy weekend! And thank you for being a friend.
